Educators’ Attitudes about Trans Learners and Resources in Music Education
We are gathering data on the visibility and training of transgender musicians in primary, secondary and community institutions. This project seeks to understand how trans and gender-expansive music ensembles are represented, as well as the knowledge and awareness of music educators (instrumental, vocal or theatrical) around working with transgender musicians by collecting perceptions from professionals in the field. With this data, we hope to provide insight into the current understanding and representation of transgender musicians in the music education community.
