CLAUDE CAHUN

French-Jewish Surrealist photographer, sculptor and writer; WWII resistance fighter, producing anti-Nazi propaganda under the pseudonym, “The Soldier with No Name.” Arrested and sentenced to death, Allied liberation freed them before the sentence was executed, but Cahun did not fully recover from their time in prison, and died in 1954.
